I couldn't believe what I was reading! You are indeed a fantastic writer who speaks the truth. I love every word of this story. I will keep it locked up within me. WOW…💓
Super thought-provoking post here brother! I find myself now wondering if true creativity is beautiful at all, or if all the beauty associated with art exists only for the audience. I can say for certain that my journals are not eloquent until I edit them into something worth posting . . . And I'm often only editing for an audience's eyes! Would I edit if nobody were to see my writing? Probably not! So many questions arise from this post--questions of beauty, of meaning, and more intricately of performance vs authenticity. Very well done!
So glad it could stir so many questions in you, Ryan. I think making something for an audience can still ensure beauty but funnily enough you have to completely disregard them during the creation process. It’s one of those strange paradoxes that life seems to be filled with, but we can’t censor ourselves to appeal to an audience because 9 times out of 10 the work will appear inauthentic. A lot of the classic books today were banned for years when they came out, probably because they were too real, despite being a deprecating act (status wise) for the author when it released. I’m thinking of books like Lolita, Tropic of Cancer, Ulysses, etc.

So true. It's a weird paradox, but it plucks the chord of a universal truth.
Sometimes you release a butterfly, whose flapping of wings causes a tsunami in the soul! And no, you're not excused for this.😉
But seriously, I think this is one of my favorite posts of yours.🙂 Thank you, Ilan!!
dianaaaa, thank you! I’m glad it resonated with you. It was a lot of fun to write too. I hope you rode the wave of the tsunami haha, appreciate you <3
